After graduating college from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2002 with a degree in Comprehensive English and Minor in Geography I taught English as a second language in Japan for two years. Following that I instructed at the Army Intelligence Center of Excellence. I taught courses and Intelligence Analysis, Analytic Tradecraft, and developed doctrine and courses taught at the Military Captains Career Course as well as the Warrant Officer advanced course. Following that I was a educator at the National Geospatial Intelligence College in Washington D.C.
